 More About Who We Are

The most important roles I play are personal trainer, lifelong student, daughter, aunt, fitness enthusiast, amateur figure competitor, motivator, and proud dog owner.

I hold a degree in Sports Medicine from Central Michigan University and a Master's degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport. With over 24 years of experience in personal training, I've worked with a diverse range of clients, from teenage athletes to senior citizens.

Throughout my life, I've always had a competitive edge. Although I was too short for college basketball, I didn't let that stop me from giving it my all. I've participated in triathlons, marathons, and eventually dabbled in bodybuilding and figure competitions. This shift not only transformed my body but also my mentality to never give up. I realized that where the mind goes the body will follow. If I can strengthen my resilience, there isn’t anything that I can’t do.

When I started Moe Fitness Inc., I offered personalized online training programs and one-on-one training locally in the Metro Detroit area. I quickly realized that I wanted to create my own fitness community so I could serve more people in one place. Enter Home Turf Gym and here we are today. I can’t wait to meet you. Welcome Home.

Maureen Ashley

It all began with my love for soccer. That is where I felt like my best self and ultimately free. While competing as a collegiate athlete, my love for soccer expanded into all physical activity, connecting with people, and teaching. After college, I spent my professional career in various settings and working with people from different backgrounds having very different stories. I loved hearing them all. I grew curious about and attached to people that experienced catastrophic injuries. I chose to dive deep into making exercise accessible to every individual, no matter their circumstance or limiting beliefs. Having my fair share of injuries and surgeries from sports, I know what it’s like to wonder if your body can do the things you want it to do while just living your life. I’m incredibly honored and grateful to those that allow me to help them realize there are options. You got this!

Things you might not know but now you do: coffee is life, I LOVE dogs and the outdoors (hiking and camping), I have been a percussionist since elementary school, music moves me, I’m goofy, and I’m not afraid to ask for help
